Slow Cooked Pork with Mozzarella, Asiago & Roasted Garlic
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup NapaStyle Roasted Garlic Rub or favorite meat seasoning mix
- 1 whole (6 lb.) boneless pork shoulder or butt roast (not tied)
- 1-3/4 cups (7 oz.) Sargento® Bistro® Blends Shredded Mozzarella & Asiago Cheese with Roasted Garlic
Directions
- If necessary, trim fat from top of pork, leaving a 1/8-inch thick layer. Spread Roasted Garlic Rub evenly over both sides of pork.
- Transfer pork, fat-side-up, to a shallow roasting pan and roast in a preheated 275°F oven until fork tender, 6 to 8 hours. Transfer pork to a cutting board and let stand 15 minutes. Trim off and discard any fat; pull pork apart into chunks with tongs.
- Drain roasting pan juices into a cup and let stand 15 minutes; skim off and discard fat from pan juices. Return chunks of pork to same roasting pan; top with cheese. Bake in 350°F oven until heated through and cheese is melted, 6 to 8 minutes. Serve with pan juices.
