Chad Hamilton is General Counsel, Secretary and Executive Vice President of Legal and Governmental Affairs for Sargento. He currently oversees the company’s approach to all legal matters including enterprise risk, government affairs, and employee safety – all areas that contribute to the vision at Sargento to be the most innovative, best-loved real food company.

With over 20 years of experience leading legal teams, Chad has a proven record of success managing legal concerns and minimizing risk exposure. Previously, he served as Chief Legal Counsel and Secretary for Swisslog Healthcare Solutions and as General Counsel for JBS USA. Chad is particularly known for building solution-oriented legal departments through a reliance on strong business acumen, sophisticated legal experience, and a creative approach to problem-solving that enable the organization’s growth.

Chad has been recognized by the Milwaukee Business Journal as Top Corporate Counsel as well as the Community Champion. Additionally, he’s honored to be an Athena Leadership Award recipient and to receive the Top General Counsel Drinker Biddle First Chair Award.   Chad enjoys being a member of World 50 – a private community where corporate-level executives discover new ideas by collaborating to find solutions to critical strategic issues.

Chad received a JD from the University of Colorado, an MBA through Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management , and a BS in animal and food science from Colorado State University.

Committed to community service, the arts and education, he is often found volunteering with his family and serves as a director on multiple nonprofit boards.
